Welcome! My name is Laura and, as you can see, I’ve always felt comfortable in the kitchen. I’ve been cooking for as long as I can remember, and my driving passion in life is to share my love of cooking and my belief in the healing power of quality food.

I firmly believe that the kitchen is the soul of every home and that food has a unique power to help us connect with ourselves and with each other. I realize that while I may have been in the kitchen as a child, this isn’t the case for everyone, and it is my ultimate goal to help young people (and anyone who’s interested!) gain an appreciation for the simple act of preparing a healthful meal, while acquiring a practical skill that will hopefully translate into a passion of their own.

I know from experience that possessing the knowledge to be at ease in the kitchen allows for a fun, stress-relieving respite from the rush of everyday life. It is a chance to slow down and tune in to a basic need that is important to foster early in life.

I can promise custom-designed lessons full of fun, creative recipes and a non-intimidating, seasonal approach to cooking, informed by my hands-on experience with cooking and farming ,and fueled by my genuine enthusiasm.

I offer private lessons, as well as meal prep and menu planning servies in and around the Los Angeles area. Lessons are for 1-3 students at a time ages 10+ and I come to you. I can’t wait to work with your family and learn the unique traditions and practices of your kitchen!
